Gujarat Polls: Hardik Patel decides to support Congress

Hardik-CongressSagarSpeaks: After dilly-dallying for several weeks, Patel Patidar leader Hardik Patel has finally announced his decision to go with the Congress led by Rahul Gandhi and support the party wholeheartedly in the upcoming Gujarat polls. “As Congress has accepted all our demands, including quota for Patidars, we also offer our support to the party. It’s not unconditional,” he confirmed.

“It’s not just supporting Congress. It’s all about fighting the BJP, directly or indirectly. They had offered us Rs. 1200 crore to withdraw agitation, but I refused. Now, they are offering Rs. 50 lakh to our members and conveners in North Gujarat. It won’t work. We are fighting against their arrogance,” said Hardik.

However, Hardik Patel made it clear that he won’t join any party and has not sought tickets too. He dissolved the five-member core committee of the PAAS. “I won’t contest from any party for the next 2.5 years,” he confirmed.

Hardik appealed the people of Gujarat to end the “draconian rule” of the BJP, saying they have done nothing for farmers, landless labourers and all others who struggle for a living. “Do not waste your vote by voting for BJP. They believe people are stupid,” he added.
