As the stalemate continued in the Odisha Assembly for the sixth consecutive day over paddy procurement issue, BJP MLAs decided to meet Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at his residence.
On Thursday, after the Assembly was adjourned till 4pm, the opposition party marched to the Lok Seva Bhawan to meet the CM at his office.
Upon not finding him there, the members walked close to 3kms to his residence at Naveen Niwas.
However, the members staged a protest in front of his house as the doors were locked.
In an unprecedented scene, the CM came to the main gate and invited the members for a discussion.
The CM is said to have assured the BJP MLAs that an-all party meeting will be convened by the Speaker on the paddy procurement issue soon.
The opposition has been demanding his intervention in the unsold paddy lying in the mandis. Earlier, BJP MLA Subash Panigrahi who attempted suicide by drinking sanitizer inside the House over the issue.
