Baijayant urges Girls to be Role Models like Kalpana Chawla

ONI Bureau: While remembering Indian-born American Astronaut Kalpana Chawla on her death anniversary, Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda urged all girls to chase their dreams and fulfill their passions.

Jay Panda asked the girls to become role models like Kalpana Chawla. “She was a force to be reckoned with and definitely an inspiration for the universe,” he said.

Kalpana Chawla, who hailed from Haryana, but settled down in the USA, was one of the 7 crew members who died in the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster on February 1, 2003 when the craft disintegrated during its re-entry into the Earth’s atmosphere.
