Amarnagar wins 8th DPCL Volleyball Challenge Trophy
Dhamra, Dec 9: The 8th DPCL Volleyball tournament was held on 6th and 7th December at Dosinga market ground, near Dhamra Port. AmarnagarVolley Team won the tournament by defeating the Dosinga Town Club team.
The day-night match was participated by 10 volley teams from Eight periphery panchayats of Dhamra Port. In the semi-final Dosinga defeated Karanpali team to reach the final, while Amarnagar team defeated Karanjmal team. The other participating teams were Bansada, Kaninali, Dhamra, Jagula, Kaithakhola and Panchutikri.
Sahadev Pal and Surajit Jena of Dosinga team won the Best Smasher and Best Player prizes respectively. Adani-Dhamra Port organises the tournament every year to encourage local volley teams and promote rural sports talents.
Among others, the group CEO of Adani Group Sri Unmesh Abhayankar and Dhamra Port CEO Sri Subrat Tripathy were present during the final match of the tournament.
