ONI Bureau: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated Asian Rugby Under-18 Girls Sevens Championship at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.
The three-day long tournament will feature 12 countries from across Asia divided into three pools. India has been grouped in Pool B along with UAE, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.
As per report, this is the first ever international age grade rugby tournament hosted in India.
The participating teams are from China, Hong Kong, UAE, Philippines, Laos, Qatar, Nepal, Chinese Taipei, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Thailand and the host country India.
India defeated UAE 22-5 in the inaugural match of Asian Rugby at Kalinga Stadium today.
