After David Warner’s majestic knock of 145, Steven Smith joined the party with an unbeaten 162 aided by Michael Clarke’s 128 to put Australia in command in the first Test match in Adelaide. At stumps on Day 1, which was marred by rains, Australia finished at 517/7.
Smith was batting on 162 at close. For India, Shami, Aaron and Karn Sharma have taken two wickets each. Smith and Clarke treated Indian bowlers like school kids and added 163 runs for the 7th wicket. That changed the course of the game completely.
Australia is now looking forward to score in excess of 600. India now stare at a massive defeat in the first Test unless some miracle happens.
