BCCI drops 6 Players of Odisha U-19 Cricket Team over Age Fudging Case

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has dropped six players of Odisha under-19 squad due to mismatch in their date of birth.

All the six players have been selected for Vinoo Mankad One-Day Zonal League (East Zone) Trophy. They are Suraj Singh, Suryakanta Samal, Pratyush Mohapatra, Harsit Rathore and Khyama Sagar Bal.

Notably, on August 23, a three-member Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team  visited the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) office to probe the date of birth proof by junior cricketers in Odisha.

Earlier, it was alleged that as many as 36 young cricketers had forged their date of birth to play under-19 cricket matches organized by the OCA and BCCI.
