Ben Stokes becomes most Expensive Player in IPL 2017, gets Rs 14.5 Cr

Ben Stokes emerged as the most expensive player in the 2017 Indian Premier League (IPL) Player Auction as he was bought by the Rising Pune Supergiants for more than $2 million (Rs 14.5 crores) at auction held at Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Bengaluru today.

Stokes’ teammate Tymal Mills was bagged by Royal Challengers Bengaluru for Rs 12 crore at the IPL player auction however; Mohammad Nabi becomes the first Afghanistan cricketer to join VIVO IPL. He will play for SunRisers Hyderabad.

Out of the final 351 players, 66 were sold at the end of the bidding round at the player auction for Indian Premier League (IPL) – 2017 edition will be held in Bangalore on February 20.
