Centurion Test: South Africa finish Day 1 at 269/6

ONI Bureau: South Africa started on a positive note after winning the toss in the 2nd Test match at Centurion, as they finished Day 1 at 269/6. Aiden Markram (94) and Hashim Amla (82) were the top scorers.

As Bhuvneshwar Kumar was “rested” for this Test, Indian pace bowling lacked the sharpness. It was Ashwin who came to the rescue and took 3 wickets. Ishant took one while two batsmen were run out.

It would be interesting to see how far South Africa would stretch their innings tomorrow and how Indian batsmen to responds to their razor sharp bowling attack. The Proteas are leading the series 1-0.
