Champions Trophy Hockey: India lose to Argentina

India-vs-ArgentinaAfter losing to Germany 1-0 in the final minute yesterday, the Indians lost their second consecutive match, as they went down to Argentina 2-4 at the Champions Trophy Hockey tonight. India were leading 2-1 at one stage, but conceded three goals to lose the battle.

Argentina needed this victory, as they had lost to the Netherlands 3-0 in the first encounter yesterday. For India, Akashdeep Singh (30) and Gurjinder Singh (37) scored the goals. For Argentina, Lucas Vila (30), Juan Lopez (37), Agustin Mazzilli (49) and Joaquin Menini (59) scored the goals. India conceded two goals in the last 15 minutes.

In other matches, Netherlands beat Germany 4-1, while Belgium held Australia to a 4-4 draw. England trounced Pakistan 8-2 in another match. Both India and Pakistan have now lost their two matches. The Netherlands and England are on the top with two wins from two matches.
