China hold England to 2-2 draw in HWC 2018

ONI Bureau: China and England played first draw of Hockey World Cup 2018, as they played a thrilling Pool B game at the Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar tonight. Both teams split the points.

The Chinese, known for their agile tactics, took the lead when Guo Xiaoping scored in the 5th minute. England levelled the score through Mark Gleghorne in the 14th minute. Liam Ansell gave England a 2-1 lead in the 48th minute.

England almost took the game, but Talake Du scored the equalizer for China in the 59th minute, dashing their hopes. Talake Du was declared ‘Player of the Match’.
