Dhoni sets Record, as India beat West Indies at Perth

imageSkipper MS Dhoni became the most successful Indian captain with maximum number of away ODI victories (59), as India beat West Indies by 4 wickets at WACA, Perth to continue to lead Pool B. It was India’s 4th straight win in 2015 World Cup. They had defeated Pakistan, South Africa and UAE earlier.

Earlier, Indian bowlers did a marvellous job to restrict West Indies at 182 in 44.2 overs. Jason Holder was the top scorer with 57, while Gayle (21), Carter (21) and Sammy (26) were the other contributors. For India, Shami took three wickets. Umesh Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja took two wickets each.

West Indies bowlers did a wonderful job to contain the Indian batsmen with short balls and take wickets at regular intervals. However, Dhoni prevents the from creating any miracle. India reached 185/6 in 39.1 overs and on the match by 4 wickets.

Dhoni was the top scorer with 45. Kohli (33), Raina (22) and Ashwin (16*) were the other top contributors. For West Indies, Taylor and Russell took two wickets each. Mohammad Shami was declared ‘Man of the Match’.

India conceded 21 extra runs, including 16 wides. West Indies gave away 26 extras, including 19 wides and 3 no balls.
