Germany beat Pakistan to win Champions Trophy Hockey

Olympics Champion Germany beat Pakistan 2-0 in the final to win the Hero Champions Trophy Hockey tournament at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. They won the Champions Trophy for the 10th time and regained it after a gap of seven years.

The scoreline would have been much better, but Pakistani goalkeeper Imran Butt saved at least 5-6 goals, thanks to his brilliant Hockey. Germany even missed all four penalty corners tonight. Christopher Wesley and Florian Fuchs scored the goals for Germany.

The crowd in Bhubaneswar cheered the German team throughout the match because of the unfortunate episode happened last night.

Pakistan failed to break the final jinx. They have appeared in the final of Champions Trophy seven times, but never won it. Earlier, Australia beat India to finish third and win a bronze medal. Here’s the final standings:
