ICC bans Pragyan Ojha for Suspected Bowling Action

Pragyan-OjhaIn a shocking development, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has banned Indian spinner Pragyan Ojha from all competitive cricket for suspected bowling action. Ojha, who was recently awarded a Grade B contract by the BCCI, was reported for an suspect bowling action by the former Test umpire AV Jayaprakash during a Ranji Trophy match.

Pragyan Ojha has been under the scanner for over a year. He was the quickest Indian bowler to take 100 Test wickets. He played a Test match last time in November 2013. His last Test match was against the West Indies.

The ICC The officials found that Ojha’s elbow was bent beyond the permissible limit of 15 degrees. Earlier, ICC had banned Saeed Ajmal and Mohammad Hafeez of Pakistan for similar issues. Among others, Sachithra Senanayake, Kane Williamson, Sunil Narine and Prosper Utseya were also barred by the ICC for suspected bowling action.
