ICC withdraws Pakistan Umpire Aleem Dar from ODI Series

Aleem DarThe International Cricket Council (ICC) led by former Pakistan captain Zaheer Abbas has sought to fish in the troubled waters following the rising protests by Shiv Sena against Pakistani artists, diplomats and cricketers. The ICC today withdrew Pakistani umpire Aleem Dar from India-South Africa ODI series.

Aleem Dar, who never faced any protests in India even during the World Cup and IPL, was scheduled to officiate in the 4th and 5th ODIs, one of them in Mumbai. The ICC withdrew him after the Shiv Sena forced the cancellation of talks between BCCI and PCB, which was due today in Mumbai.

PCB Chief Shahryar Khan and Najam Sethi, who were in Mumbai, were taken to New Delhi. But, as the talks could not be held, they are being flown back to Pakistan.
