Team India registered their third successive win in ICC World Cup 2015 to lead the points table in Pool B. They had defeated Pakistan and South Africa earlier. India dominated the UAE from the very beginning and controlled the game with ease before winning the match by 9 wickets.
Earlier, UAE won the toss and elected to bat first. They failed to handle the pace and spin bowling of India and bowled out for 102 in 31.3 overs. Shaiman Anwar scored 35. For India, Ashwin took four wickets, while Umesh Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja took two wickets each.
India lost Shikhar Dhawan early while chasing down 103. But, Rohit Sharma (57*) and Virat Kohli (33*) batted sensibly to achieve the target. India reached 104/1 in 18.5 overs and won the match by 9 wickets. Ashwin was declared ‘Man of the Match’. India entered the Quarterfinals with this easy victory.
