India beat Bangladesh by 8 wickets to win Asia Cup T20

India-Asia-CupTeam India got a big morale booster victory ahead of World Cup T20, as they defeated hosts Bangladesh by 8 wickets to win Asia Cup T20. While Dhawan and Kohli led from the front, skipper Dhoni played a cameo to seal the title in India’s favour.

Earlier, the match was reduced to 15 overs a side following rains. India won the toss and elected to field first. Thanks to Mahmudullah’s 33* off just 13 balls, 32* by Sabbir Rahman and Shakib’s 21, Bangladesh posted 120/5 in 15 overs.

Team India Asia CupIndia lost Rohit Sharma early. But, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli prevented any further damage and took India closer to the target. They added 94 runs. Dhawan was out for 60. Kohli remained unbeaten on 41, while Dhoni hit two sixes to score 20* off just 6 balls to help India win the match with seven balls to spare.

India finished 122/2 in 13.5 overs. This is the sixth time India have won Asia Cup (maximum times) and inaugural T20 format too. Shikhar Dhawan was declared ‘Man of the Match’, while Shabbir Rahman was declared ‘Man of the Series’.
