India beat Sri Lanka in Indore T20I; win Series

ONI Bureau: Powered by an explosive hunded by Rohit Sharma, who equalled fastest T20I hundred record of David Miller to score his ton off 35 balls, India crushed Sri Lanka by 88 runs to win the series 2-0 with one match to go.

Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bowl first. India posted 260/5 in 20 overs – second joint highest T20I total. Rohit Sharma scored 118 off 43 balls with 12 boundaries and 10 sixes. Lokesh Rahul made 89, while Dhoni scored 28. Pradeep and Perera took 2 wickets each.

Sri Lanka started the run chase well and were placed good at 145/1 in 13.2 overs. But, there was a sudden collapse and they finished at 172 in 17.2 overs. Mathews did not hear due to hamstring injury. Upul Tharanga (47) and Kusal Perera (77) were the top scorers.

For India, Yuzvendra Chahal took 4 wickets and Kuldeep Yadav took 3 wickets. Rohit Sharma was the obvious choice for the ‘Player of the Match’.
