India crush Sri Lanka by 93 Runs in Cuttack T20I

ONI Bureau: A clinical performance by Team India with bat and the ball, powered them to score a comprehensive 93-run victory over Sri Lanka in the 1st T20I at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack.

Earlier, India had posted 180/3 in 20 overs. Lokesh Rahul 61, Shreyas Iyer 24, MS Dhoni 39* and Manish Pandey 32* were the top scorers.

Chasing a victory target of 181, Sri Lanka kept losing wickets at regular intervals and bowled out for a paltry 87 in 16 overs. Upul Tharanga was the top scorer with 23.

For India, Yuzvendra Chahal took 4 wickets, while Hardik Pandya took 3 wickets. Kuldeep Yadav bagged two Lankan wickets too. MS Dhoni scored 39* and was involved in 4 dismissals (2 catches and 2 stumping).

 

Yuzvendra Chahal was declared ‘Player of the Match’.
