India survive Japanese scare; to face Pakistan in ACT 2018 Final Today

ONI Bureau: Defending Champions India had to work hard to secure a 3-2 victory over Japan in the semi-finals of Asian Hockey Champions Trophy to set up a Final clash with Pakistan, to be held tonight at 10:40 PM IST.

Pakistan overpowered Malaysia 3-1 in the penalty shootout after being level 4-4 in the regulation period in the other semifinal. Malayasia and Japan will play for the 3rd spot.

For India, Gurjant Singh, Dilpreet Singh and Chinglensana scored the goals. Asian Games 2018 Champions Japan, which was mauled 9-0 by India in the league stage, bounced back to give them a run for their money in the semis. India remain unbeaten in this tournament so far.
