India take control of Rajkot Test vs West Indies

ONI Bureau:  The Indian batsmen followed by the bowlers, put the West Indies on the mat, as India took control of the first Test match in Rajkot at the end of second day’s play. West Indies now trail by 555 runs in the first innings with just 4 wickets in hand and stare at follow on.

Earlier, India declared the first innings at 649/9. Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant missed out on a hundred, as he scored 92. But, skipper Virat Kohli hit his 24th Test hundred. He scored 139. Ravindra Jadeja scored his maiden Test hundred and remained unbeaten on 100. Prithvi Shaw had scored 134 yesterday. For West Indies, Devendra Bishoo took 4 wickets, while Sherman Lewis took 2 wickets.

West Indies batsmen failed to face the pace and spin attack from Indian bowlers and finished at 94/6 at close. Roston Chase is batting on 27. He has been the highest scorer for West Indies so far. For India, Shami took 2 wickets.
