India thrash Asiads Champion Japan 9-0 in Asian Champions Trophy

ONI Bureau: India’s winning run continued at the ongoing Men’s Hockey Asian Champions Trophy as they thrashed Asian Games gold medalists Japan 9-0 on their third straight win at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat on Sunday.

Akashdeep was named player of the match for his 2 goals.

India had earlier beaten Oman 11-0 and Pakistan 3-1 in their second match.

On the points table, India lead, standings with nine points followed by Malaysia on six points from two games while Pakistan have three points from two matches and Japan are on three points in three games. South Korea and Oman have lost both their matches.
