India win ODI Series against South Africa 5-1

ONI Bureau: Team India registered a historic ODI series victory (first-ever ODI series win on South African soil) against South Africa with yet another 8-wicket comprehensive win at Centurion. They won the series 5-1.

Virat Kohli led from the front and hit his 3rd hundred of the series., It was also his 35th ODI hundred. He was also the obvious choice for the ‘Player of the Series’.

Earlier, South Africa could manage just 204 46.5 overs. Khay Zondo scored 54. AB de Villiers (30) and Phehlukwayo (34) were the other top scorers. For India, Shardul Thakur took 4 wickets, while Bumrah and Chahal took two wickets each.

India reached 206/2 in just 32.1 overs and won the match by 8 wickets. Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 129 whiile Rahane scored an unbeaten 34. Lungisani Ngidi took both wickets. Kohli was declared ‘Player of the Match’ too.
