IPL 2018: Rahane to lead Rajasthan Royals after Smith steps down

ONI Bureau: Steve Smith has stepped down from his position as Captain of Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Rajasthan Royals, after admitting ball-tampering in the Cape Town Test.

India batsman Ajinkya Rahane will be replacing the Aussie skipper as Captain of Rajasthan Royals. The IPL 2018 will begin on April 7, 2018, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Yesterday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) handed Smith a one-Test suspension and docked his full match fees as per its code of conduct.
