Jitu Rai wins India’s 1st Individual Gold at ISSF World Cup

Jitu Rai- Amanpreet Singh- ISSF World CupWith an outstanding performance, Indian shooter Jitu Rai won India’s first Individual Gold medal in the final of 50m air pistol event at International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Jitu who was struggling in the final, stunned everybody with a remarkable comeback and created a new record by scoring 230.1 points in final while Indian shooter Amanpreet Singh clinched silver in the same event finishing with a score of 226.9.

Jitu had won a gold medal in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Event on Monday. Again on Tuesday, he won a bronze medal in 10m air pistol event.

India has had a decent show so far, Ankur Mittal winning silver medal in men’s double trap and Pooja Ghatkar won bronze in women’s 10m air rifle.
