KL Rahul makes Test Debut, Australia 259/5 at MCG

KL-RahulTeam India finally got rid of Rohit Sharma, who failed to prove his mettle in the first two Test matches and replaced him with debutant KL Rahul from Karnataka. In the third Test match at Melbourne, Australia finished Day 1 at 259/5.

India removed David Warner for a duck in the second over of the match. However, Chris Rogers and Shane Watson added 115 runs for the second wicket to revive the Australian innings. Despite losing Rogers and Watson on the same score after Lunch, Australia fought back to take the score to 259/5 at Stumps.

Rogers scored 57, while Watson made 52. Australian skipper Steven Smith, who has already scored two hundreds in the series, is batting on 72. Shaun Marsh scored 32. For India, Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav took two wickets each. Ashwin took one wicket. Injured Bhuvneshwar Kumar failed to make it to the third Test. He was ruled out of the first Two test matches also.
