Kuldeep Yadav shines, as India beat West Indies in 1st T20
ONI Bureau: Kuldeep Yadav led the bowling attack to put West Indies batsmen on the mat, as India beat them by 5 wickets in the first T20 to take 1-0 lead in the series. Although India lost quick wickets, they held the nerve to clinch this win.
Earlier, India won the toss and elected to bowl first. West Indies managed to score 105/8 in 20 overs. Fabian Allen scored 27. Kuldeep Yadav took 3 wickets by conceding just 13 runs in 4 overs.
Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan departed early. India lost wickets at regular intervals and were 45/4 at one stage. However, Manish Pandey (19), Dinesh Karthik (31*) and Krunal Pandya (21*) played sensibly to see the team through.
India reached 110/5 in 17.5 overs and won the match by 5 wickets. As expected, Kuldeep Yadav was declared ‘Player of the Match’.
