Navjot Kaur scripts History; wins Gold at Asian Wrestling Championship

ONI Bureau:  Navjot Kaur became the first Indian woman to claim a Gold medal in the Asian Wrestling Championships at Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, on Friday.

Kaur defeated Japan’s Miya Imai 9-1 in a one-sided final bout to win the 65kg freestyle category.

Earlier on Friday, India got another medal as Sakshi Malik won the bronze in the 62kg (0-7) freestyle category. With this India’s medal tally stood at one gold, one silver and four bronze medals so far.
