Odisha FC Sack Coach Stuart Baxter For Using Rape Analogy To Criticize Referee

ISL Club Odisha FC, on Tuesday, sacked its head coach Stuart Baxter for using rape analogy to criticize a decision of referee after his team’s loss. Odisha FC lost to Jamshedpur, which had triggered the coach who used unsavory language.

The ISL team first issued an apology through their official handle.

“The Club is appalled at the comments made by Head Coach, Stuart Baxter during the post-match interview today. It is completely unacceptable whatever the context and does not reflect the values of the club. We, at Odisha FC, unreservedly apologize and the club management will handle this matter internally,” the tweet read.

It was followed by a statement on Tuesday, stating that the coach had been sacked.

Odisha FC is currently at the bottom of the table, with only one win from 14 matches.
