Ace shuttler and silver medallist in the recent Rio Olympics, P.V. Sindhu on Saturday offered prayer to Goddess Durga at the famous Lal Darwaza temple in Hyderabad.
Sindhu along with her parents P.V. Ramana and P. Vijaya visited the temple.
After her prayer, Sindhu said, she visits the temple every year, and she also had promised to offer a special prayer if she would win medal at Rio Olympics.
The 21-year-old badminton player was born in Hyderabad. She has been taking training under P. Gopi Chand. At the 2016 Rio Olympics, she became the first Indian woman to win an Olympic silver medal.
Among other rewards, the Government of India has announced to confer the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award 2016 to Sindhu along with Sakshi Malik, Dipa Karmakar, and Jitu Rai.
