Leander Paes and Martina Hingis won the Wimbledon Mixed Doubles title with a stunning 6-1, 6-1 victory over Alexander Peya and Timea Babos. The title summit clash lasted for just 40 minutes.
This is Leander Paes’ 16th grand slam title. In the last 24 hours, it came as a third delight for India. Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis had won the Women’s Doubles title yesterday. Only a few minutes ago, Sumit Nagal gave India second good news, as he won the Wimbledon Boy’s Doubles along with a Vietnam partner.
This is the first time three Indians have won Wimbledon titles – Sania Mirza in Women’s Doubles, Leander Paes in Mixed Doubles and Sumit Nagal in Boy’s Doubles.
