Pari Sharma, India’s ‘Baby Dhoni,’ Leaves Social Media in Awe with Her Helicopter Shot

If you are already missing on Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s trademark helicopter shot in the delayed IPL 2020, worry not, there is some good news in waiting! Meet seven-year old Pari Sharma, the ‘Baby Dhoni’ christened by the social media for accurately imitating Dhoni’s iconic helicopter shot.

Pari’s video surfaced online when former cricketer Aakash Chopra tweeted her video and said “Thursday Thunderbolt…our very own Pari Sharma. Isn’t she super talented?”

The video has since garnered over 89,700 views and tweeted by other cricket personalities too. “I see now helicopter shot being actually practiced. Along with collecting the ball very close to the stumps as keeper, this is another cricketing technique Dhoni has popularised as great options for budding cricketers,” tweeted commentator Sanjay Manjrekar.

The Child Prodigy

Pari Sharma resides in Haryana’s Rohtak and her father, who has played with former Indian cricketers including Joginder Sharma, is her coach.

This is not the first time she has left the social media spellbound with her cricketing techniques.

Earlier this year, a leading cricket website tweeted her video praising her talent, footwork and shots. Former English players Naseer Hussain and Michael Vaughan had shared the tweet.

Pari aspires to be a cricketer and represent the Indian national team.
