PV Sindhu rises to Career-best No.5 in World Badminton Rankings

pv-sindhuIndia’s ace shuttler and silver medalist in the recent Rio Olympics, P.V. Sindhu has become the second Indian women to break into top 5 in the latest BWF (Badminton World Federation) World Rankings.

Sindhu overtook Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi, as per the latest rankings released on this week.

Saina Nehwal, who is ranked ninth, is the other Indian in the top 10, while Chinese Taipei’s Tai Tzu Ying continues to lead the rankings.

Sindhu clinched the silver medal at Rio Olympics which was one of the best years of her career last season. After winning the silver, she continued to do well in several other tournaments and won 2016 China Open and 2017 Syed Modi International Badminton Championships.
