World No.1 Shuttler Saina Nehwal on Saturday lost to reigning Olympic Champion Xuerui Li in the semi-finals of the Malaysia Open Badminton tournament at Kuala Lumpur.
The Chinese ace Badminton player beat Saina in a marathon contest that lasted an hour and eight minutes. She eventually won in 13-21, 21-17, 22-20 sets.
The Indian challenge in the $500,000 prize money tournament ended with Saina’a loss.
Li and Saina have met 11 times as of now, with the Chinese winning 9 of those games. Saina’s two victories against the Chinese came in the Singapore Open in 2010 and Indonesia Open in 2012.
