Sania-Martina wins Indian Wells Open

India’s ace Tennis star Sania Mirza and Swiss legend Martina Hingis have won the women’s doubles trophy of the Indian Wells Open tennis tournament at Californi, USA. They beat the duo of Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina 6-3, 6-4 in the title clash.

Top seeds Sania and Martina made a stupendous start as they did not drop even a single set in the tournament en route to the title. Sania and Hingis were trailing 2-4 in the second set but went on to win four games in a row to clinch the trophy.

It was Sania’s 24th career title and the second doubles trophy this year.

With this stupendous title win, Sania reaches her career-best rank of number three in WTA doubles ranking.
