We have sufficient runs on Board: Cheteshwar Pujara

ONI Bureau: While Team India bowled out for a paltry 187 in the first innings on Day 1 despite winning the toss in the third nd final Test in Johannesburg, Pujara expressed confidence that the team has sufficient runs on board.

“It was one of the toughest pitches I have batted on. I really had to work hard to score runs. Overall we batted well. The runs on the board are sufficient and we can bowl them out”, Pujara said at post-match press conference.

Earlier, India won the toss and opted to hat first. Both the openers departed at just 13 runs on board. Pujara (50) and Kohli (54) saved India from more embarrassment with a 84-run partnership. India finally bowled out for 187. Bhuvneshwar contributed 30. No other batsmen could reach the double digit score.

For South Africa, Rabada took 3 wickets, while Morkel, Philander and Phehlukwayo took two wickets each.
