West-IndiesAfter being stunned by Ireland in the opening match, West Indies bounced back strongly to crush Pakistan by 150 runs in a crucial Pool B match. It was the second successive defeat for Pakistan, as they had lost to India in the first match. With this loss, they are now in danger of getting eliminated without reaching the quarterfinals although it’s too early to say.

Earlier, West Indies had posted 310/6 in 50 overs. Dwayne Smith (23), Darren Bravo (49), Samuels (38), Ramdin (51), Simmons (50), Sammy (30) and Andre Russell (42*) were the top scorers. Haris Sohail took two wickets.

Chasing a victory target of 311, Pakistan bowled out for 160 in 39 overs and lost the match by 150 runs. They lost four wickets for just one run on board and never recovered from that shock. Sohaib Maqsood (50), Umar Akmal (59) and Shahid Afridi (28) were the top contributors. For West Indies, Jerome Taylor and Andre Russell took three wickets each. Sulieman Benn took two wickets. Andre Russell was declared ‘Man of the Match’ for his all-round performance.
