West Indies Women beat Australian Eves to win T20 World Cup

The West Indies women’s team made history, as they defeated the mighty Australia for the first time to win ICC T20 World Cup title.

Australia posted 148/5 in 20 overs. Villani and Lanning scored 52 each. Perry made 28. For West Indies, Dottin took two wickets.

West Indies found no difficulty to chase the victory target. They reached 149/2 in 19.3 overs. Hayley Matthews was the top scorer at 66. Stafanie Taylor scored 59. The openers added 120 runs for the first wicket to take the game away from Australia.

Hayley Matthews was declared ‘Player of the Match’, while Stafanie Taylor won the ‘Player of the Tournament’ award.
