Women Kabadi Championship begins at KIIT

All India Inter Zone University Women Kabadi Championship started at KIIT University on Friday. KIIT is organizing this All India tournament in association with Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Inaugurating the mega Kabadi event Dr. Achyuta Samanta, founder, KIIT and KISS said, KIIT has been promoting sports and cultural activities to develop inner qualities of students along with quality education. Students of KIIT and KISS have brought so many National and International laurels to the country as well as the state in various sports and games including Rugby, Archery, and Chess etc.

One should learn discipline from student life to achieve his goal, he advised. Sports develop discipline and competitiveness among students said Prof. P.P. Mathur, VC, KIIT University.

Dr. G. Syam Kumar, AIU observer lauded the KIIT authority for organizing such type of mega events and advised the players and officials coming from various universities to enjoy the beautiful ambiance of various campuses of KIIT University.

National level sports competitions and tournaments create sprite of national integration and discipline among students said Prof. Dr. Sasmitarani Samanta, Registrar, KIIT University. Among others Prof. Jayanta Parida, Director, Sports Council, Utkal University and Dr. Gaganendu Das, Sports Director, KIIT were also present in inaugural ceremony. Bharthiar University of Tamilnadu, Kurukhestra University, Haryana, L.N. Mithila University of Bihar, Mangalore University of Karnatak, M.D. University, Rohatak of Haryana, M.G. Kashi Bidyapitha, Varanashi, Panjabi university, Patiala,  Panjab University, Chandigarh, R.T.M University of Nagpur, Maharastra, Shivaji University, Maharastra, University of Mumbai, University of Pune, University of Kerala are participating in this tournament along with Utkal University and KIIT.

Match No 1: Punjab University, (Chandigarh) Vs Krishna University, (AP),
Krishna University won the match By 25-16 Points

Match no 2: KIIT University, (Odisha) Vs Mangalore University, (Karnataka),
Mangalore University Won the Match by 50-16 Points.

Match no 3: Punjabi University, Patiala Vs Utkal University, (Odisha),
Punjabi University, Patiala Won the Match by 20-10 points

Match No 4: L.N. Mithila University, (Bihar) vs. R.T.M. Nagpur University (Maharastra)
L.N Mithla University Won the Match by 36-22 Points

Match no 5: M.G. Kashi Vidyapitha vs. Mumbai University
Mumbai University won the Match by 42-23 points.

Match No 6: Kurukhetra University vs Pune University
Kurukhetra University Won the Match by 37-23 points.

Match No 7: Bharatiyar University vs. Shivaji University
Bharathiar University, (Tamilnadu) Won the Match by 34-21 Points
