Kodak, one of the pioneering camera companies in the world, launched its first Android based smartphone IM5 on the occasion of CES 2015 on Tuesday. Initially, the company has launched the smartphone for European market and later it will be launched globally. Kodak IM5 will be available in Europe by March 2015.
Kodak IM5 is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek processor (probably the MT6592) coupled with 1GB of RAM. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, which could be upgraded.
The smartphone has a 5-inch 720 pixels touchscreen, a 13 mega pixels rear snapper with LED flash, a 5 MP front camera, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of built-in storage, and microSD card support. The smartphone will cost around Eur 299 or $249.
Kodak has collaborated with Bullit, a British firm known for making rugged CAT-brnded smartpones, to made the components of IM5 smartphone.
