5 killed as Light Plane crashes into Australian Shopping Mall

plane crashesAt least five people were killed when a light plane crashed into a shopping centre near the Australian city of Melbourne on Tuesday.

The plane had taken off from the Melbourne’s second-biggest airport at Essendon on a chartered flight to King Island, 255 kilometres (160 miles) to the south.

Police and the paramedics rushed to the site where the flight crash took place.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police Stephen Leane said, no one has injured on the ground but the five people who were on the aircraft are no more. A pilot has reported a “catastrophic engine failure” moments before the plane crashed into a storage area.
