Pakistan hangs 2 Terrorists, 8 More to Go

Raheel-TwitterAfter lifting ban on death penalty against the terrorists in Pakistan, the Army ordered the execution of 10 dreaded militants. Two of them were hanged in Faisalabad last night. Eight more will be hanged soon, as per the tweet of Pakistan Army Chief General Raheel Sharif.

The first to be executed were Aqeel Ahmad aka Dr Usman, and Arshad Mehmood. Ahmad was involved in attacks on the Army HQ and the Sri Lankan cricket team in 2009. Aqeel was convicted of the attack on General Pervez Musharraf’s convoy.

Death warrants have been issued for 8 more convicted terrorists, including two Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) terrorists Attaullah Qasim and Muhammad Azam. Pakistan Army has so far killed around 80 Taliban fighters in a massive operation after the Peshawar Attack, which left 132 children and 10 school staff dead.
