4th KIIT International School MUN 2015 concludes in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Aug 11: Fourth KIIT International School Model United Nations (MUN) Summit was concluded on Sunday in KIIT International School. Students Representatives of various schools of the country and abroad represent the member countries of UN discussed and debated on this three day summit from 7 to 9 August 2015.

Addressing the valedictory session Dr. S. C. Jamir, Governor of Odisha said, youth of a country learn to understand and accept each other. Then the possibilities of discrimination and cultural conflicts will die out. Never underestimate your talent and power. We realize the importance of our voice, when we remain silent observers. So be brave, gather strengths within yourselves and realize your full potential, he said. This is my firm conviction that, all of you can say the future. Now is the time for young generation to join hands, break barrios, build bonds friendship and human solidarity around the world and advanced together to the future dream, he added.

Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS addressed the delegates, highlighting the role of policy makers in order to create a balanced harmonious world order. He felt that heightened parental expectation, ambitious faculty and a rather critical peer group was responsible for the lack of patience and often cosmetic involvement of young people in the world issues around them. His inspiring words and optimism helped to boost mood of the delegation. Dr. Mona Lisa Bal, Chairperson, KiiT International School welcomed the dignitaries and the delegates, while Mr. Sanjay Suar, Principal proposed vote of thanks.

Governor felicitated best participants in different categories. Diganta Mishra represented France in UNHRC, Priyasha Sai Ukil representing USA in UNGA, Anindya Bebarta Patnaik representing USA in UNSC, Abhisek Mohapatra, captain America, Ritesh Patnaik representing Belgium in UNEP adjudged best participants and given certificates by Hon’ble Governor.
