The Programme was inaugurated by Dr. Chakradhar Panda Honorary Secretary of Indian Red Cross Society Odisha State Branch as the Chief Guest and Mr. Govinda Chandra Mahunta, Honarary Joint Secretary of Indian Red Cross Society Odisha State Branch and Mr. John George, Coordinator of ICRC and Mr.Gauranga Nayak, Life member of Indian Red Cross Society Odisha State Branch and Mr. Sisir Chandra Pradhan, President of Tarini Slum Gandamunda, Khandagiri were present as the guest of honour. By addressing the participants Dr. Panda said that a women bear almost all the responsibilities for meeting all the needs of the family yet often they are denied the resources, information and freedom they need to fulfill this responsibilities. He informed that all present to take the benefit of family counseling and other community Welfare Programme of Red Cross. During the session different techniques and merits and important of hand wash were demonstrated.
Sri Govinda Chandra Mahunt, Honary Joint Secretary of Indian Red Cross Society Odisha State Branch, briefly explained the Indian Red Cross Society role and the objective of Family Counselling Centre. During his address Sri Sisir Chandra Pradhan, President, said that Indian Red Cross Society Odisha State Branch’s role has been instrumental in Odisha especially in humanitarian activities
The programme was coordinated by the Counsellors Miss Bijayalaxmi Kar and Miss Pritiprangya Dash they discussed on various issues related to Familly Conselling including dowry victim, extra marital affairs, economic crisis, mentally illness and interference of in-laws etc. The Programme was ended with a vote of thanks By Miss Bijayalaxmi Kar.
