Tata Steel bags prestigious Kalinga Safety Award

Bhubaneswar, Sep 29: Tata Steel, the leading steel and mines company  in India, was conferred with the prestigious ‘Kalinga Safety Award 2014’ in the Gold category for its Manganese Mines of Ferro Alloy Mineral Division, at the 6th  Odisha State Safety Conclave held in the city today.

On behalf of Tata Steel, Mr NC Mohapatra, Resident Executive, Bhubaneswar, Tata Steel, Mr B D Mohanty, Chief, Safety, Kalinganagar & Mr Maruti Nandan Suman, Senior Manager, Safety, Manganese Mines, Ferro Alloys & Mineral Division and received the award from Chief Guest, Shri G. C. Pati, IAS, Chief Secretary cum Chief Development Commissioner, Govt. of Odisha.

Shri G Srinivas, IAS, Principal Secretary, Dept. of Labour & Employees State Insurance, Govt. of Odisha was the Guest of Honour at the conclave. The sixth Odisha Safety Conclave was organised by Institute of Quality & Environment services and Quality Council of India, Odisha chapter. The theme of this year’s conclave was ‘Safety Ever, Accident Never’.
