Odisha Govt Gives Nod To Private Hospitals To Treat COVID-19 Patients

The rising number of COVID-19 cases in the state has prompted the Odisha Government to allow private hospitals to treat COVID-19 patients.
As per the notification issued by the Health and Family Department of Odisha, the private hospitals can start COVID treatment after registering themselves. The hospitals have also been asked to designate 10 per cent of the beds for COVID patients.

“In view of COVID -19 pandemic, a large number of cases of different severities like mild symptomatic, very mild symptomatic, moderate and severe is detected. The government has taken the effort to manage such cases and has created many Dedicated COVID Care Centers (DCCC), Dedicated Covid Health Center (DCHC), and Dedicated Covid Hospitals (DCH). However, looking to the present scenario of positive case detection, the state will need more number of Dedicated Covid Health Center and Dedicated Covid Hospitals,” the notification read.
