The MLA was pushed to the ground and beaten up. Other MLAs rushed in to rescue him. Rashid and his supporters too hit back and were seen slapping the BJP MLA. Despite the requests from BJP MLAs, Engineer Rashid hosted a beef party and invited everyone to have a taste of beef.
Former J&K CM and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah has condemned the incident, saying MLAs have not come to the House to beat up anyone and such incidents lower the dignity of the House. He and his MLAs have staged a walkout from the Assembly.
