Direct Benefit Transfer in Kerosene from April 1: Dharmendra Pradhan

Aiming for the successful implementation of direct transfer of kerosene subsidy, the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan requested all state representatives to cooperate wholeheartedly. On the occasion of Direct Benefit Transfer in Kerosene (DBTK), Centre promised an initial advance transfer of subsidies to beneficiaries. The amount of subsidy will be directly transferred to the bank account of the beneficiary. 

The minister A.P.S Kairon, Cabinet Minister for Food, Girish Bapat and representatives of 19 states and Union Territories attended the meeting. The scheme aimed at eliminating subsidised kerosine from supplly chain for eliminating black marketing and cut off corruption of fuel with disel. That scheme will be came into force from April 1. Under the scheme, consumer will pay the non-subsidised price of kerosene. 

Further Mr. Pradhan extended his gratitude to those 9 states who agreed to take the programme as pilot programme and appealed others states to take this programme as pilot programme at least for one district in state. The scheme will be launched initially in Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, 
Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat.
