Former Arunachal Pradesh CM Kalikho Pul commits Suicide

In a shocking development, former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Kalikho Pul committed suicide under mysterious circumstances. He was 47.

Pul, who had revolted against the Congress with the BJP’s support, had been Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh for four-and-a-half months in early 2016, but had to resign in the wake of a Supreme Court verdict in July 2016.

Pul had no option but to return to the Congress, but was replaced by Pema Khandu. He succeeded in overthrowing Nabam Tuki as the CM, but failed to get anything for himself. He was reportedly going through mental depression the way he was treated by his party and others.

Kalikho Pul was an orphan. He reached the top post with sheet grit, hard work and determination. He had held several important ministerial portfolios before he became the CM.
