Jammu-Srinagar National Highway closed due to Landslides

The Srinagar-Jammu National Highway was closed for traffic today as multiple landslides occurred due to heavy rains at many places in Ramban district in the Jammu region.

Landslide clearance operations are underway in the district and it is expected to be re-opened for traffic later this afternoon.

The 300-km long highway is the only all-weather road link connecting Kashmir with the rest of the country.
